ANNOUNCEMENT

Tra Vinh University, Research Centre For Farm Animal Gene Conservation (HáGK) and Association Of Hungarian Small Animal Breeders For Gene Conservation (MGE) cordially invite Vietnamese and Hungarian scientists, breeders and producers and their cooperating colleagues in the third countries, who work in the field of gene conservation, sustainable agriculture and rural development, animal science, animal breeding and genetics, aquaculture, crop science and environmental management to participate in the 9th Vietnamese-Hungarian International Conference on:“Research for Developing Sustainable Agriculture”

1. Theme: Research for Developing Sustainable Agriculture.

2. Conference venue: Tra Vinh University 126 Nguyen Thien Thanh, Hamlet 4, Ward 5, Tra Vinh City, Tra Vinh Province, Viet Nam

3. Language in use: English

4. Conference date: 20-24 September 2016

On the behalf of the above mentioned institutions and organisations, Tra Vinh University organises the 9th Vietnamese–Hungarian International Conference on: “Research for Developing Sustainable Agriculture”. The conference is part of a long-standing series which started in 1998. Following the first success, in the last nearly two decades, it has been held regularly every second year either in Vietnam or in Hungary. The series has laid basic foundation for the cooperation of Vietnamese and Hungarian academic institutions in term of Agricultural Research for Development. More importantly, it has offered priceless opportunities for Vietnamese and Hungarian scientists as well as researchers from the other related countries to exchange scientific knowledge, experiences and transnational initiatives. In Hungary, the conferences had taken place in 2000 (2nd, Gödöllő, Szarvas), 2005 (4th, Gödöllő), 2010 (6th, Gödöllő) and 2015 (8th, Gödöllő, Budapest). In Vietnam, the conferences had taken place in various large economic centres such as Ho Chi Minh (1st in 1998), Hanoi (3rd in 2004) and Cantho (5th and 7th in 2008 and 2012). However, with attempt to emphasize the significance of local biodiversity, ecological farming and the value of ethnic people, at the 7th conference in 2012, the 9th conference was decided to be organized in Tra Vinh province, Mekong Delta, where approximately 30% of the population is Khmer. More importantly, with regard to sustainable agriculture, this conference will place emphasis on discussing and finding the possible solutions for the conflicts arising between economic oriented agricultural production and agro-biodiversity protection in “Research for Development”. Joining to the traditional subjects of earlier Vietnamese-Hungarian Conferences that related mainly to gene conservation, sustainable agriculture, rural development, animal science and aquaculture, the theme of the 9th conference will be extended and cover crop science, environmental management as well as biotechnology related to above scientific fields.
The official languages used in the 9th conference will be English and Vietnamese. We would like to invite you to participate in this meeting and submit papers or posters that related to the following topics:
1. Gene conservation
2. Sustainable agriculture and rural development
3. Animal science (nutrition, husbandry, production, health)
4. Animal breeding and genetics
5. Aquaculture
6. Crop science
7. Environmental management
8. Biotechnology
In order to take part in the conference, please download and fill the registration forms. The completed registration forms should be sent to:
